Not all greenhouses will need require permits, but some will.
You will work with your Greenhouse Expert to figure out what specifications are required for building structures in your area. One of the first steps in your planning process is determining if a permit if required for the greenhouse.
Securing a permit depends on many factors including the municipality’s building codes. As you can guess, these codes vary from county to county. Other factors include foundation, proximity to the property line or setback, glazing and size of the greenhouse. We have found that structures less than 100 square feet (8x12 and smaller) typically do not require permitting for a non-permanent structure. However, do not assume this to be the case for your greenhouse. Please check with your planning department.
