Technical Details on Glazing Choices

Single Glass

greenhouse suppliesSingle glass makes for a nice showpiece in your yard. Our 3mm single glass is tempered safety glass that is lapped to minimize any possible breakage.

This is a great option for the gardener that wants a full light transition to control the amount of sun in the greenhouse.

This option however will not insulate as well as some of our other grazing options. Additionally, you will require additional shading so as to not scorch your plants.

We also offer an upgraded 6mm single glass option that is one full sheet. This offers a clearer look with similar light transmission and insulation values.

Double Glass

This option is great for a conservatory look and feel and as such, is higher in cost compared to our other glazing options.

Twinwall Polycarbonate

cross sections 028This is our most economical option in terms of price and energy savings. It is a practical choice for a working greenhouse as it offers 50% more insulation than single-pane glass.

Our 6mm Twinwall polycarbonate is essentially unbreakable and the insulation will prevent the temperature from changing drastically, resulting in a consistent and stable growing environment.

Important Note: You can not see through polycarbonate. You can see shapes and shadows but it is not transparent like glass.

Fivewall Polycarbonate

cross sections 022Our 16mm fivewall polycarbonate is the most energy-efficient glazing available on the market today! If offers 50% more insulation than double glass and 80% more insulation than twinwall polycarbonate.

This makes it ideal for colder climates and gardeners who grow specialty plants.

Important Note: Fivewall is the most insulating glazing product on the market today, but with 62% light transmission you will have a harvest delay of 2 to 3 weeks due to diffused sun exposure.
